Prince Edward Island conducted its Latest PEI PNP Draw and issued invitations to 146 Express Entry and Labour Impact candidates to apply for a provincial nomination for Canada permanent residence. A total of 14 invitations were issued to the business candidates along with the 146 invitations. This draw took place on October 17, 2019, and this is the first draw of Prince Edward Island province. In the previous PEI PNP draw held on September 19, 2019, a total of 122 invitations were issued to express entry and labor Impact categories and business impact: work permit stream. Prince Edward Island’s Express Entry category belongs to applicants having their profile registered in the Federal Express Entry System. Canada’s Express Entry System monitors the pool of candidates for three main economic categories- the Federal Skilled Worker Class, Federal Skilled Trades Class, and Canadian Experience Class. Express Entry applicants who are looking forward to getting a provincial nomination from PEI have to submit a separate Expression of Interest (EOI) profile with the PEI PNP.

On the other hand, the Labor Impact category of PEI PNP is not a part of the Express Entry system and organizes its own three EOI-based streams – Skilled Workers in PEI and Outside Canada, International Graduates and Critical workers. Candidates who are looking for eligibility under these streams must have a full-time employment offer in PEI from PEI employer or must be working in PEI, among other criteria.
