A Designated Area Migration Agreement (DAMA) is an agreement between the Australian Government and a designated area to enable businesses within that area to address specific labour shortages.The Great South Coast GSC DAMA allows the employers of the region to sponsor skilled and semi-skilled overseas workers for relevant positions which are unfilled by the local workers.

A list of few occupations which are included in Great South Coast DAMA occupation list are livestock farmers, agricultural technicians, variety of farm workers, slaughterer and meat process workers to hotel, motel and restaurant managers, cook, chef, mechanics and truck.
Currently, the Great South Coast DAMA is applicable for 27 occupations including mainly agriculture and hospitality sectors. The Great South Coast region includes the municipalities of Glenelg, Moyne, Warrnambool, Corangamite, Colac Otway and Southern Grampians.
