BRITISH COLUMBIA NEW PNP : 216 CANDIDATES RECEIVED ITA

A sum of 208 skilled workers, international students and entrepreneurs were invited on 2nd february 2021 under the provincial nominee program British Columbia (BC PNP). This Canadian Province British Columbia has been issuing draws every week and they have invited about 740 candidates so far. Canada is completely  focused towards its goals of offering 4,01,000 candidates an invite for immigration this year.

WHAT IS BRITISH COLUMBIA PROVINCIAL NOMINEE PROGRAM?

It refers to a program wherein the applicant who desires to move to British Columbia Canada can directly get permission to reside there through the express entry system. If the minimum required CRS  matches the CRS of an applicant, they become eligible for the same. The first step of this process is to submit your profile under the IRCC (Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship of Canada). Then comes the second step where the ITAs (Invitation To Apply) are sent to the candidates who are eligible under the specified program.  The best part about the entire procedure comes up when the candidates apply and receive nomination from the state. This grants them 600 points in addition to their existing scores and this helps the candidates in seeking permanent residency from IRCC’s express entry system.  Currently there are three types of candidates who are invited by the British Columbia province based on their qualifications and work experience as well as capabilities. The categories are as following,
  1. Skilled workers
  2. International graduates
  3. Entry level and Semi-Skilled Workers
All three of these have distinct cut off scores as well starting from 98 for skilled workers and international graduates and 79 for entry level and semi-skilled workers.  Wondering what is the skilled immigration stream? Well, keep reading, you will get your answers. Skilled immigration stream refers to a category of immigration procedures wherein a foreign candidate can have the permission to get permanent residency. It basically consists of people who have work experience within the canadian boundaries or they already got a job offer from an employer in B.C.

There are five categories under SI, four of them are aligned with the federal government’s Express Entry system:

  • Skilled Worker Category — for people who have a job offer and several years of experience in a skilled occupation;
  • Healthcare Professional Category — physicians, nurses, psychiatric nurses or allied health professionals with job offers in one of 11 eligible occupations may apply for this category;
  • International Graduate Category — for workers who have graduated from an eligible Canadian university or college in the last three years;
  • International Post-Graduate Category— Master’s or Ph.D. graduates from eligible B.C. post-secondaries in the natural, applied, or health sciences may apply for this category without a job offer; and
  • Entry Level and Semi-Skilled Worker Category — for entry-level or semi-skilled workers with jobs in tourism, hospitality, food processing, or long-haul trucking, or those in entry-level or semi-skilled positions living and working in the Northeast Development Region of British Columbia. This is the only SI category that does not apply to candidates in the Express Entry system.

 British Columbia also invited 8 entrepreneurs for the first time in two months. There are various factors which affect the eligibility of a candidate for receiving an ITA under the entrepreneur program. They are as follows,

  1. Business experience
  2. Net worth
  3. Investment
  4. Business plan
  5. Education

There are two categories under which the entrepreneurs are invited.

  • Regional Pilot : under this category, candidates are supposed to start a business at the outskirts of a province where employment opportunities are less and the scope as well as the need of industrial development is high.
  • Base Category : under this category, candidates are supposed to start a business in the populated, more established sections of the province.
The investment requirements as well as the net worth that a candidate should have while applying for either of these categories in British Columbia differs. For regional pilot category in British Columbia Canada, an investment of more than 1 lakh Canadian Dollar is required which is equal to around 60 lakhs INR whereas for a base category, an aspiring foreign entrepreneur should have an investment of around 17 to 18 lakh canadian dollars which is more than 1 Crore INR.  For more information, keep visiting.
