The Latest Canada Express Entry Draw Issues 3,500 invitations To Apply For Canada Permanent Residency Visa

The new Express Entry draw conducted on 19, September 2018 issues 3,500 invitations with the minimum score 441

3,500 Express Entry candidates have received Invitation’s to Apply (ITAs) for the Canada permanent residency in the latest Express Entry draw conducted on the 19th of September, 2018. And, the least Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score was 441. The tie-break time and date used in the draw was 6, September 2018 at 10:28:45 UTC. It means that any Express Entry candidate who obtained CRS 441 score or above who submitted their profile before this specified time and date got an Invitation to Apply in this draw.

It is striking that the invitation number was less than the last Express Entry draw held on 5, September where 3,900 ITAs were issued. The number is still more than ITA numbers that the Canadian government was issuing in the draws held around this point of time in 2017, when the number reduced to be less than 3,000.

The Express Entry system is used for the management of candidates’ profiles in the following three main federal economic immigration categories: the Federal Skilled Worker Class, the Canadian Experience Class, and the Federal Skilled Trades Class.

An Express Entry candidate is given rank as per their CRS score. And, the highest scoring candidates are given an ITA via the regular draws usually conducted every fortnight.

An Express Entry candidate can rank higher using many approaches. And, the best one is a provincial nomination that provides 600 more CRS points. The Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) under the Express entry are active in 2018. The most active one is the Ontario’s Human Capital Priorities Stream. This stream had a change in its CRS minimum requirement from 400 to the minimum score that will be fixed by the director of the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP).

The Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has so far issued 62,100 invitations in 19 draws in 2018. It is little more than 60,742 ITAs that were issued in the first 19 draws held in 2017. By this time in 2017, the IRCC had issued 66,549 ITAs. It means that the IRCC is 4,449 ITAs behind when compared to the last year.

The total number of ITAs issued in 2017 was 86,023. It seems that this year this number may be more than the last year’s number.
