In the recent draw held on June 3, Nova Scotia invited a total of 312 Express Entry candidates having work experience as early childhood educators and assistants. The invitations have been issued under the Labour Market Priorities Stream permitting the province to seek the Express entry pool for candidates with work experience in an occupation that is currently facing a shortage in the province.
Nova Scotia, Canada’s most popular province located on the country scenic Atlantic coast has welcomed copious new permanent residents in the province in the previous year and many of them were through the Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP).
The Nova Scotia Nominee Program is the official program of the province used to nominate a fixed number of immigration applicants for permanent residency every year under the eight streams customized as per the province economic needs and requirements. Among the eight streams, three comes under the Express Entry system that monitors the pool of candidates under the main economic-class immigration categories – Federal Skilled Worker Class, Federal Skilled Trades Class, and the Canadian Experience Class.
Express Entry candidates who receive a provincial nomination from Nova Scotia gets additional 600 points towards their overall CRS score and automatically, their chances to receive an invitation to apply for Canadian permanent residence escalates. To get consideration for a provincial nomination through Nova Scotia’s Labour Market Priorities Stream, you need to enter a profile in the Express Entry pool. This was the second draw through the Labour Market Priorities Stream targeting express entry candidates with work experience in NOC 4214- Early Childhood educators and assistants.
a) You have to submit evidence of post-secondary education in early childhood education for children between 0 t8 years;
b) Proof of completion of a two or more years program at a university, college, trade or technical school, or another institute; and
c) Letter of reference from Employers mentioning a proof of at least five years of work experience in NOC 4214.
The NSNP also mentioned that the express entry candidates selected on June 3 have lodged their Express Entry profile on or after August 8, 2018. Labour Market Priorities stream has been introduced in August 2018 and used four times yet so far. Apart from early childhood educators, this stream has also targeted financial auditors and accountants and the express entry candidates with French as its first official language.
