The Manitoba province is giving the opportunity to young international graduates through the announcement of two paths, namely, International Student Entrepreneur and Graduate Internship. The idea behind this is to establish new global connections with infusion of new talent. The two streams were introduced as a part of Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP)’s renewal program.
The Manitoba PNP is developed with the intention help the province to nominate candidates for permanent residence each year. Till date, Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) has invited across 130,000 immigrants from the year it was started in 1998.
The International Student Entrepreneur stream is fabricated for international graduates who have accomplished at least two-year degree at a Manitoba post-secondary institution and is aiming to settle a business in Manitoba. Candidates are required to invest actively in the business.
The Government of Manitoba says that the selected candidates under the International Student Entrepreneur Pathway will get a temporary work permit.
The Graduate Internship Pathway has been established for international students who have either a Master’s or Doctoral degree from any institution of Manitoba in three years and an internship.
The candidate who completes an Accelerate or Elevate internships which is supported by Mitacs can apply in Manitoba with or without a job offer from an employer. Mitacs is responsible for connecting universities with industries in Canada as well as on international level.
The pathways are created to lure and retain innovators and entrepreneurs around the world,” Manitoba’s Minister of Education and Training. According to the minister, International students bring fresh ideas, global connections and an entrepreneurial spirit to Manitoba which will help to sustain in competitive environment.”
