Provincial Nomination Programs bring opportunities in 2019

Canada’s Provincial Nominee programs are frequently sprouting and altering changes to attract International Skilled workers. Recently, the change in Saskatchewan’s In-Demand list is a good example of it.

Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) is  the official Immigration program designed by the Federal and provincial government, allows participating provinces and territories to set a target for an intake of economic immigration candidates for Canadian permanent residence each year.  The PNPs have given the best of candidates across the world to Canada and is continuing to spread their magic under the federal government’s recent multi-year Immigration levels plan.

The intake number through the provincial nominee programs has been decided to increase each year, from 61,000 in 2019 to 71, 300 in 2021. Go through the major changes that have been taken place under the PNP programs:

  1. Saskatchewan’s In-Demand Occupation List got updated on April 4th.
  2. Renewal of the Manitoba Provincial Nominee program.
  3. Target is on financial auditors and accountants under Nova Scotia’s Labour Market Priorities.
  4. Ontario’s record nomination allotment for 2019.

The Maple Syrup Land deals with the two provincial nomination streams – enhanced nomination streams and base nomination streams, where the former one is allied with the Federal Express Entry System that includes the pool of candidates under three main economic immigration categories – the Federal Skilled Worker Class, Federal Skills Trades Class, and Canadian Experience Class. There is an addition of 600 points in their overall Express Entry ranking score to the express entry candidates under the enhanced nomination stream and an effective fast-tracked process for an invitation to apply for Canada residence. On the other hand, Base nominations belong outside the Express Entry system and are also used to apply for permanent residence.

a) Saskatchewan

The recent modification in high-demand occupation list has left the impinge on the Enhanced International Skilled Worker: Express Entry sub-category and its base International Skilled Worker: Occupation In-Demand sub-category. Both these categories demand work experience in an occupation that is mentioned on the list. Though, no job offer is required to be eligible to apply.  With the demand in the labor market and as per the needs, occupation list has been updated. There has been a total 817 invitation issued by the Saskatchewan in the recent five draws under the Express Entry and Occupation In-Demand sub-categories so far in 2019.

b) Manitoba

Two new pathways have been added to both the Skilled Workers in Manitoba and Skilled Workers Overseas streams  as part of the renewal program that includes the enhanced nomination Manitoba Express Entry Pathway. The Introduction of the renewed Skilled Worker Overseas: Human Capital pathway criteria under the MPNP’s renewal program is still come into the effect. The Human Capital pathway is accessible for International Skilled worker applicants who have work experience on the position which is in demand in Manitoba, along with the other requirements.

Canada PNPs have been offering numerous opportunities for the candidates who are pursuing Canadian permanent residence. And, with the increasing targets and enduring modernization, PNPs have been modified timely by the Government. Adopting for the Canada PNPs have been considered as the better option for Express Entry candidates, looking to increase the ranking score or someone seeking a nomination via a base stream.
