How New Points System can help you in Australia PR process?

The Australia annual budget for the year 2019-20 has come up with many changes, varying from new point system to the introduction of new visa categories. The prime center of attraction has been the announcement of a few changes in the Australian point System, which is going to come in effect from November 16, 2019. Some changes have made in the points system for Immigration and permanent residency process. a) 10 points will be rewarded for a skilled spouse or de facto partner

b) 15 points will be given to applicants nominated by a State or Territory Government or sponsored by a Family member residing in Regional Australia.

c) 10 points for applicants with certain STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) qualifications.

d) 10 points for the primary applicants without a spouse or de facto partner

e) 5 points for the candidates, whose spouse or de facto partner have competent English.

 

The aforementioned changes will be implemented in all GSM (General Skilled Migration) visa categories- Skilled Independent Visa Subclass 189, Skilled Nominated Visa Subclass 190, and Skilled Regional Provisional Visa Subclass 489 categories. These are point-based visas and are the most common visa categories among the aspirants. Subclass 189 and Subclass 190 are permanent visas allow skilled workers to live and work in the country on a permanent basis. On the other hand, subclass 489 visa is a temporary visa allows skilled workers to live in the nation for the duration of four years.

With the new changes in the Points system, applicants PR process can be easily affected. There is allotment of 10 points for the applicants without a spouse or a de-facto partner, which helps the applicants, to get some points based on their marital status. Well, there is good news for applicants with a spouse or de facto partner, as well. There is an allowance of 10 points for applicants who have a skilled spouse or de facto partner and 5 points for the ones whose spouse or de facto partner have competent English. Currently, points are given to candidates on the basis of factors like Age, education, work experience, etc. But now, you can get points on your marital status. The applicants with STEM (science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) qualification qualifications will get 10 points now.

The good news is that, if you are a STEM graduate or postgraduate and your spouse is talented and has competent English, you can easily get 25 points. Therefore, it is predicted that this new system is going to help aspirants in various ways.
