Updates on Australia State Programs under Subclass 190 visa

The Department of Australian Immigration has already come up with new changes and rules W.e.f. from July 1, 2019. The Australian State and Territories have begun their visa programs with a few changes and in the meantime, the authorities are also, working on the closing of Australian Skilled Regional Subclass 489 visa. Check out a few changes made to some of the Australian State/Territories programs:

Check: How to apply for Skilled Nominated Visa Subclass 190?

a) New South Wales

The recent news about this state is that it has changed its occupation list early this month. It has introduced an online system to specify the accessibility of the nominated occupations in the state. You can easily look at the number of invitations but the system doesn’t indicate how many people have been invited. The state has also included additional requirements to specific occupations available in the Priority Skilled Occupation List. Applicants should be living in the state and are employed in the state for at least a year in the nominated occupation available on the NSW subclass 190 visa.

b) Australian Capital Territory

A total of 523 invitations have been issued by the state in July month. The state prefers applicants who are already living and working in Canberra for a longer time.

c) Queensland

Queensland occupation list is open now and it has reopened its Business Migration program.

d) South Australia

The High points pathway has been increased to 85 points on July 26, 2019. Though a few occupations have already been excluded from this pathway and occupations available on South Australia Nominated list are also getting closed at instant speed.

e) Tasmania

The focus will be on candidates applying under Subclass 489 visa before the closing of this visa program. The state is encouraging applicants to submit their application before August so that all the applications can be processed easily before the closing date of the visa program i.e., September 10, 2019.

f) Western Australia

The Occupation list of Western Australia is restricted to medical occupations only and on the other hand, it's graduate list offers a wide range of occupations for students who have completed their Ph.D. in the state.
