Updated Skilled Occupation List of Queensland

Queensland has circulated some updates in the Skill Occupation List on 24th October 2018. As per the latest update circulated by BSMQ,- the Queensland Government has removed some occupations associated with engineering field from the list.

The Engineering Occupations have been removed from the QSOL w.e.f. 24th October 2018 are given below:

  1. Civil Engineer (233211),
  2. Electrical Engineer (233311),
  3. Mechanical Engineer (233512)

The above-mentioned occupations have been removed from the list by BSMQ because it has reached its ceiling limit. This year, numerous EOI (Expression of Interest) has received by the BSMQ for these occupations and, as a result,  the occupation ceiling limit is reached.  No further invitation will be issued by the BSMQ until any further notice. However, if the invited aspirants are unable to respond in given time then, the BSMQ may think of opening the occupation again.

Best Categories to Apply for Queensland State Nomination

If you want to Immigrate to QLD for Permanent Residency, below-given skilled visas are the best option to apply:

  1. Skilled Nominated Visa (Subclass 190): It is a State Permanent Visa allows an applicant to dwell and work in the QLD state.
  2. Skilled Regional Provisional Visa (Subclass 489): It is a four-year provisional visa allows an individual to live and work in the regional areas of Queensland. It is the pathway to attain PR in Queensland.

To be eligible to apply for the Queensland State Nomination, you have to meet all the eligibility requirements that are given below:

  1. You have to acquire minimum 65 points on Australian Immigration Points test to be eligible. To increase your chances, you have to score well.
  2. You have to receive a positive skill assessment in your nominated occupation.
  3. You have to meet the minimum English Language Proficiency.
  4. The applicant should be less than 45 years of age.
  5. You have to submit additional documents as well if you apply via subclass 190 and subclass 489.

Other Additional Requirements

  1. Your occupation should be available on the QSOL list.
  2. You have to mention that, you have at least two years of work experience in your chosen occupation. In some occupations, there could be a demand for more experience.
  3. You must have true intention to live and settle in QLD from the date you have landed in the nation.
