Saskatchewan organizes largest EOI draws in favor of Express Entry and occupations in-demand applicants

The Canada’s Province Saskatchewan has recently conducted the biggest draw through which 853 candidates are invited for the Express Entry and Occupations In-Demand immigration sub-categories. This will enable the candidates to apply for a provincial nomination from its new International Skilled Worker Expression of Interest pool. A whole of 359 candidates aiming for Express Entry sub-category were invited to apply on October 10 draw and the lowest-ranked candidate had a score of 60 point assessment grid.

While in Saskatchewan Occupations In-Demand immigration sub-categories, 494 candidates were issued invitation to apply for the nomination from Saskatchewan. The lowest score seen on the point assessment grid was 63.

The score was the minimum since the introduction of Expression of Interest system in Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) for the two above mentioned sub-categories in July.

The SINP’s Express Entry is liable to manage and regulate the candidate’s profile by means of three federal economic immigration programs i.e. the Federal Skilled Worker Class, Federal Skilled Trades Class and the Canadian Experience Class.

To be eligible to apply for the Express Entry, the candidates requires to possess work experience in a high-skilled occupation available in the In-Demand Occupations List and secure 60 points minimum on point assessment grid. Express Entry candidates who receive provincial nomination will be granted extra 600 points towards their score Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score which will to help in getting invitation for Canada permanent residence more swiftly.

The Occupations In-Demand immigration sub-category is specially designed for the eligible candidates who have secured less on the point assessment grid i.e. 60 points and have devoted at least one year experience in the province’s in-demand occupations in the past 10 years.

In order to apply for any of the two categories, candidates is responsible to first submit Expression of Interest profile to obtain nomination as decided under new Expression of Interest (EOI) system.

Those who completely qualify the eligibility criteria can easily enter into the pool of candidates and based on their rank among other applicants are given invitations to apply for provincial nomination.

The invitation is valid for 60 days under which the candidates have to submit the application for provincial nomination. From the date when EOI system came into function, SINP held three draws for each Express Entry candidates and Occupations In-Demand candidates.

The intention of SINP’s EOI system is to strengthen economic results and long-term retention of candidates with Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Saskatchewan.

Removal of two occupations from the in-demand list

The SINP updated some changes in-demand occupation list by erasing NOC 2123 (Agricultural representatives, consultants and specialists) and NOC 3216 (Medical Sonographers). Now the number of occupations has now reduced to 20.
