SINP Invites New Immigrants at Lowest Ever Points Requirements

27th September 2018 marked the date of issuance of total of 438 invitations of provincial nominations for Saskatchewan. The candidate interested to apply through recent Expression of Interest draw had to score at least 65 points to qualify for further process.

Under the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) the 225 invitations were issued under the Express Entry sub category SINP International Skilled Worker Category and rest of 213 invitations were issued to candidates in the Occupations in demand sub category.

A point to be noted here at this stage is that for Express Entry candidates the eligibility score was 65 and for in demand occupation list the score was 66 i.e. one point higher than Express Entry.

Canadian Permanent Residency Pathways

Candidates, who are selected in either of the categories, have to submit a complete application for provincial nomination to the Saskatchewan government.

If candidates get the nomination from the province of Saskatchewan they obtain 600 points under the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score out of 1200 points. This helps candidates to get Invitation to Apply (ITA) in the draw held.

Furthermore, if the candidates are does not get invite from the Express Entry pool, they are considered under the Occupation in demand sub category. Candidates who get invitation under the category of occupations in demand can directly apply to the Canadian government for Canadian Permanent Residency.

Candidates do not require to have a job offer under both the categories mentioned and both of them have similar eligibility criteria.

Express entry sub category is for those candidates only who have submitted express entry profiles and occupation in demand category is for those who haven’t submitted their profiles.

Express of Interest (EOI) System Saskatchewan

Saskatchewan replaced the system if first come first serve basis in July of its Expression of Interest (EOI) System for its International Skilled Worker Category.

Candidates need to score atleast 60 points under the SINP EOI Points Assessment Grid in order to be eligible for further processing.

SINP Ranking System

While applying for both the streams under the Saskatchewan i.e. Express Entry pool and Occupations in demand category candidates ought to complete the EOI profile and a pre application step that helps to determine the eligibility of the candidate.

After this the Saskatchewan PNP selects those candidates from the Express Entry pool who have the highest points allocated based on the SINP points grid.

If the candidates have the equal scores then they are judged on other factors such as work experience, connection to province, work experience and language ability.
