The Queensland state of Australia is open to inviting skilled and semi-skilled overseas skilled workers to Regional Queensland under 70 occupations. The FNQ DAMA is effective from September 12, 2019, and going to be there for five years.
Queensland Employers can sponsor International Skilled workers in designated areas of Australia that include
Over 200 unoccupied seats to be filled in the first year in occupations like cooks, childcare workers, mechanics, and farm inspectors. Australian employers can sponsor overseas nationals under the Subclass 482 visa which is a Temporary Skill Shortage visa. Though skilled workers can’t directly apply, the employers first need approval by the Designated area’s representative (DAR). Once the approval is given by DAR, only then the employers are eligible to submit a DAMA labor agreement request with the Department of Home Affairs.

With this new DAMA, many industries like agriculture, tourism, health, shipping, and hospitality are going to be benefitted. It is also going to help in boosting the economy of the Regional Area. After completing three years in Regional areas, applicants may apply for an Australian Permanent Residency.
