Quebec announces new fundings to fill the labor gap

The Quebec Government has proposed funds of nearly $55 million to support the incorporation of temporary foreign workers. Quebec Minister, Jean Boulet said that around $20.9 million out of total funds will provide complete support to the international recruitment efforts by businesses in the province.

Talking about the Job vacancies in Canada, Quebec is the province with the highest number of job vacancies and the province has been facing labor shortage for the 40 years. To fill the labor gap and to meet the market needs, a plethora of employers have shifted their direction towards temporary foreign workers from the last year. The province is also going to support over 2,000 Quebec businesses in their international recruitment efforts. By initiating new measures, the government wants the integration of temporary foreign workers should be positive and for the long run into Quebec’s labor market.

As per the reports of the Quebec chambers of commerce federation, Quebec needs 60,000 immigrants per year, almost 20,000 more than the Government’s plan to accept immigrants in 2019. The Quebec Government announced assured initiatives on August 26, committing to promote international recruitment efforts by businesses and cover up to $1,000 in relocation expenses for temporary foreign workers.
