PEI Issued Invitation Through Its Express Entry, Labour Market And Business Impact Streams

Christmas is here and Prince Edward Island has come up with some good news to all the immigrants. The province has issued 1,240 invitations through its Express Entry and Labour Market categories in 2018. The PEI Draw held on December 20 saw issuance of 65 invitations under Express Entry and Labour Impact category and another nine invitations were issued to candidates in the Business Impact: Work Permit Stream.

There was no record of how many invitations were allotted to Express Entry nor there was any kind of specifications for the least score required. The Express Entry and Labour Market Impact categories received the highest number of invitations i.e. 1,240 invitations in 2018.

PEI’s Express Entry is responsible to nominate candidate’s profiles under three federal express entry namely - the Federal Skilled Worker Class, Federal Skilled Trades Class and Canadian Experience Class.

To Qualify PEI’s Express Entry, Candidates Must-

1. Furnish the information about their education, work experience and proficiency in English or French to earn a score based on the same.
2. Register an EOI with PEI PNP.

EOIs are assessed by the province and allotted points based on six selection age, language, education, work experience, employment, and adaptability up to a maximum of 100 points. Candidates with highest scores among all are honored with invitations to apply for a provincial nomination.

Invitations can be issued with or without a job offer in the province and there are cases where candidates got invitations who have match the labor market needs but have not created EOI profile to the province.

PEI Labour Impact Category is divided into three streams — Skilled Worker, Critical Worker and International Graduate. To be eligible under this stream, candidate must be working under a PEI employer or holding a job offer from an employer in the province.

The Business Impact: Work Permit Stream saw invitations issued to Immigrants on minimum 130 score. This stream is particularly designed for the entrepreneurs who have a work permit to run a business in PEI and only get Permanent Residency when their business is in agreement to the business standards.
