Nova Scotia unveils new Immigration Pilot stream for In-Demand Intermediate Skilled Workers

Nova Scotia, one of the popular provinces in Canada has uncovered its new three-year pilot stream targeting immigration applicants with an entitled job offer in one of the intermediate-skilled occupations. The official program of Nova Scotia, Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP) allows overseas skilled workers who intend to live and work in this province and can contribute to its economy. It is said that all the occupations that have been targeted by the new Occupation in Demand Stream are presently in high demand in the province.

It is also mentioned that these occupations can be subjected to change depending on the needs of the labor market in the province. Presently, the Occupation In-Demand Stream is open to candidates who have a full-time permanent job offer from an approved Nova Scotia employer under the two specific occupations categorized as Skill Level C in Canada’s National Occupational Classification List (NOC). 

Below-given occupations are open presently in the province:

a) NOC 3413- Nurses aides, orderlies, and patient service associates

b) NOC 7511- Transport truck Drivers

Here, are a few requirements need to be fulfilled by the candidates in order to be eligible:

  1. You must have at least one year of work experience related to your job,
  2.  Your age should be between 21-55 years old,
  3. Must have the appropriate training, skills and/or accreditation for the job,
  4.  Your English skills should match up with the standard Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) Level 4,
  5. Must have required funds to settle successfully in Nova Scotia.
  6. High school diploma is a must

Candidates’ work experience and transferable skills will be verified through letters of reference from employers and you also need to provide employment supporting documents. The ones who got approval under this stream will be provided with a provincial nomination and are able to apply for Canada permanent residence.

Updates on other Nova Scotia’s streams- Entrepreneur and International Graduate also took place. The existing business owners get the liability as they are eligible to apply under the Entrepreneur stream and may add operating expenses to their minimum investment requirement. For international graduates who are keen to start a business, the ownership requirements are soon going to change to one third from a hundred.
