Manitoba’s latest draw leads to total of 3,000 invitations in 2019

Manitoba’s seventh Expression of Interest draw took place on 28th March 2019, issued an invitation to 595 immigration applicants to apply for a provincial nomination for a Canada permanent residency. The Invitations have issued to the candidates under the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP)’s Skilled Worker Overseas, Skilled Worker in Manitoba and International Education streams.

A total of 3,199 new invitations have been issued till far under these streams by the MPNP. Applicants who were invited in the March 28 draw registered their Expression of Interest (EOI) profile with the MPNP. The first step towards attaining a nomination from Manitoba under the Skilled Worker Overseas and Skilled Worker in Manitoba streams is to submit an EOI profile. Moreover, there are other pathways as well under the International Education Stream which requires submission of an EOI profile.

EOI profile is a score given to the candidates on the factors like education, work experience, language proficiency and established connections to Manitoba and the candidates with high-ranking are issued a Letter of Advice to Apply (LAA) through regular invitation rounds

Express Entry candidates who got an LAA need to have a valid Express Entry ID and job-seeker validation code and minimum 6 months of work experience provided; your occupation should be mentioned on the Manitoba’s In-Demand Occupations List. EE candidates who have received a provincial nomination are rewarded with an extra 600 points towards their overall Express Entry Ranking score, assuring candidates an ITA to apply for Canadian permanent residence in a successive Express Entry draw.

Another group of Skilled Workers Overseas candidates who received invitations in March 2018 had the subsequent qualifications:

  • a) Work experience or past education in Manitoba or a close relative residing in Manitoba;
  • b) Minimum experience of six months in an occupation mentioned on Manitoba’s In-demand Occupation List
  • c) At least CLB/NCLC5 in English or French language unless your work experience is principally in a regulated occupation and there is a requirement is of a minimum of CLB/NCLC 7, or a compulsory trade, in which there is a requirement of CLB/NCLC 6.

The lowest score under this group of Skilled Workers Overseas candidates was 563. The LAAs were issued to a total of 29 Skilled Worker Overseas candidates under a Strategic Recruitment Initiative in the March 28 draw.

Skilled Workers in Manitoba and International Education Stream

On 1st March, the MPNP issued a total of 262 invitations to Skilled Workers in Manitoba applicants with a score as low as 433. It is the lowest score of 2019 till so far for a Skilled Worker in Manitoba draw.  The Skilled Workers in Manitoba Stream allows qualified temporary foreign workers and International Student Graduates who are currently in Manitoba and have been offered a permanent job with their Manitoba employer. In addition to that, an additional 44 invitations issued to International Education Stream applicants. The three different pathways have been provided under this stream to get permanent residency for eligible International Graduates of Manitoba post-secondary Institutions.
