Manitoba opened its Latest Expression of Interest (EOI) Draw on November 21, 2019

Manitoba conducted its Latest Expression of Interest (EOI) Draw on November 21, 2019, and issued 230 invitations to skilled workers to apply for a provincial nomination for Canada permanent residence. This Draw issued invitations to candidates through Manitoba Provincial Nomination program immigration streams: Skilled Worker in Manitoba Category, Skilled Worker Overseas category, and International Education.

Out of 230 Letter of Advice to Apply (LAAs), a total of 185 LAAs went to candidates under Skilled Worker in Manitoba Category, 16 went to Skilled Worker Overseas candidates, remaining, 29 LAAs were issued to candidates under International Education Stream.

Expression of Interest (EOI) criteria is considered for invitations through Skilled Worker in Manitoba and Skilled Worker Overseas. An interesting candidate has to create a profile that is rewarded with a point out of 1,000. The points are based on human capital factors such as education, work experience, connection to Manitoba, English/French proficiency, among other factors.

The highest-scoring candidates get an LAA, allowing them to apply for a provincial nomination in Manitoba for Canada permanent residence. In this latest draw, the candidates with the minimum score of 504 received the invitation through the Skilled Workers in Manitoba Stream and the candidate with the lowest score of 739 received invitation under the Skilled Worker Overseas Stream. The new invitations bring the total issued to skilled workers and International Education Stream candidates this year to 7,141.

The 16 candidates invited through the Skilled Worker Overseas Stream were invited directly by the MPNP under a Strategic Recruitment Initiative.

Express Entry candidates were invited in this Draw

20 invitations were issued to the candidates with Express Entry ID. Express Entry candidates with a provincial nomination receive an additional 600 Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points, escalating their chances to get invitation to apply for PR in the following Express Entry draw. If a candidate wants consideration for a provincial nomination from Manitoba, he/she must have eligible work experience in one of the occupations that are in demand in Manitoba, among other eligibility requirements. In addition to that, a candidate has to submit a separate Expression of Interest to the MPNP.

Skilled Worker Overseas and in Manitoba

Under the Skilled Worker Overseas category, the MPNP chooses and nominate International skilled workers who can support the province economically. Also, candidates must have an established connection to Manitoba such as friends or close family, past education or work experience in Manitoba, or invitation through one of the MPNP’s Strategic Recruitment Initiatives.

Candidates who get invitation under the Skilled Worker in Manitoba Category should be working in the province, and have a full-time and permanent job offer from their employer, among other eligibility criteria.

International Education Stream

Students who are graduated from Manitoba with skills that are in demand might receive invitation under the International Education Stream. This stream has three sub-categories that include the Career Employment pathway, Graduate Internship pathway, and the Student Entrepreneur Pathway.
