Manitoba issues invitations to 450 Immigration Candidates

A total of 450 Immigration candidates were invited by Manitoba to apply for a provincial nomination for Canada permanent residence in the latest Expression of Draw held on June 20. This draw offered invitations, also, known as Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) to candidates under the categories -Skilled Workers in Manitoba, Skilled Workers Overseas and Education streams.

All the aforementioned categories are part of the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP), which permits the province to nominate candidates who are eligible and have skills that are required by local employers and also, want to get settled in the province and acquire economically-stable status.

Talking about the June 20 draw, go through the LAAs issued to candidates:

Categories   Invitations offered
Skilled Workers Overseas 323
Skilled Workers in Manitoba 101
International Education Stream 26

Addition of this draw leads to the total of 4,979 invitations issued to skilled worker candidates in the year 2019.

133 invitations were issued in the June 20 draw to the candidates in the Federal Express Entry system with a job-seeker validation code and experience in occupation available on Manitoba’s In-Demand occupation list. Express Entry candidates who get provincial nomination receive an additional 600 points in their overall CRS score, ensuring their chance of receiving an invitation to apply for Canadian permanent residence.

On the other hand, other skilled works overseas who received invitations came under the following criteria:

  2. • At least 6 months experience in an occupation available on Manitoba’s In-demand occupation list,
  3. • Language proficiency of CLB/NCLC 5 is required unless your work experience is primarily in a regulated occupation with minimum CLB/NCLC 7 or a compulsory trade CLB/NCLC 6.

The Skilled Workers in Manitoba Stream is presently available to temporary workers and international student graduates who are working in Manitoba and are offered with a permanent or full-time job with Manitoba employer.

Submitting an Expression of Interest (EOI) is the first step for skilled workers who are looking forward to attaining a provincial nomination from Manitoba. Candidates are credited with a score based on their answers related to factors like their education, work experience, English/French proficiency and Manitoba connections, including other details, as well. Candidates who manage to get the highest scores are invited through regular draws that happen under the Manitoba’s EOI pool.

The minimum score requirement for an LAA in the EOI draw held on June 20 was-
