Prince Edward Island issued a total of 143 invitations to Expression of Interest candidates under its Provincial Nominee Program in it's Express Entry, labor Impact, and Business Impact categories. Out of 143, 133 invitations issued to candidates under Express Entry and Labour Impact Categories and remaining 10 were issued to Business Impact category applicants.
The Express Entry System of PEI PNP is linked to the Federal Express Entry System allowing the province to nominate candidates for Canada permanent residence under three main-economic categories such as Federal Skilled Worker Class, Federal Skilled Trades Class, and Canadian Experience Class. Candidates who receive provincial nomination certificate from the province are awarded additional 600 points towards their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score and chances of receiving an invitation to apply (ITA) in the next draw from the Express Entry pool.
The Labour Impact Category of PEI is for overseas nations with a valid employment offer and approval from an accredited PEI employer. This category is not linked with the Express Entry and to be eligible to apply, candidates must fall under three streams- Skilled Worker, Critical Worker, and International Graduate. Remaining 10 invitations were issued to the candidates under Business Impact category with a minimum score of 11 on the points system through the Work Permit Stream.
Candidates need to submit Expression of Interest (EOI) if they want to get consideration for a provincial nomination through the Express Entry, Labour Impact, and Business Impact Categories. Eligible candidates are entered into the pool and score is provided on the answers provided by them in the Expression of Interest (EOI). The candidates with high scores are later on receiving invitation to apply through subsequent draws in the pool. In comparison to the previous draw held on July 18, this draw saw 15 more invitations. In the July 18 draw, 17 invitations issued to candidates with minimum score 112.
