Latest Canada Express Entry Invitation Round, March 4, 2020

Canada conducted the Latest invitation round under its Express Entry System on March 4, 2020, and a total of 3,900 Immigration candidates received invitations to apply for permanent residence with a comprehensive ranking system (CRS) score of 471. This Latest draw witnessed an increase of one point over the last Express Entry draw which held on February 19, 2020, with a CRS score of 470. The previous month, the Canada Government held the largest Express Entry Draw where a total of 4,500 invitations were issued to Express Entry candidates to apply for permanent residence.

Canada Express Entry System

The major Immigration program of Canada called Canada Express Entry System manages the candidates under the three major economic-class immigration programs – the Federal Skilled Worker Class, Federal Skilled Trades Class, and Canada Experience Class. The CRS score under the Express Entry System is given to candidates based on factors such as age, education, skilled work experience and English/French language ability. The highest-scoring candidates receive Invitation to Apply for Canada PR through regular takes from the pool that takes place every fortnight and Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) processes visa applications for permanent residence visa within six months.

Canada Immigration Target for 2020 

It is anticipated that to meet the target of this year i.e., 85, 800 ITA for newcomers, the Government has started issuing maximum invitations in every draw. With this draw, a total of 18,700 invitations have been issued this year so far. Recently, provincial nominee streams associated with the Express Entry system have been active lately.

Express Entry-linked provincial nominee streams 

EE candidates who get a provincial nomination are awarded an additional 600 points towards their overall CRS score and are considered on priority in the line for Invitation to apply for permanent residence. Also, these additional 600 points proven to be advantageous to candidates with low CRS scores who have yet to meet the threshold score in a Federal Express Entry Draw. Provinces such as Alberta, Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Prince Edward Island and British Columbia have been inviting Express Entry candidates to apply for a provincial nomination through Express Entry-linked provincial nominee streams lately.
