Four of the Largest Canadian draws this year held in October

A record number of invitations have been issued in the month of October by provincial nomination streams of Prince Edward Island, Saskatchewan, British Columbia and Ontario. The streams linked in this are as follows:-

  • Federal Skilled Worker Stream
  • Canadian Experience Class
  • Federal Skilled Trades Stream

Most of the provinces in Canada have the Provincial Nominee Program that allows nominating a set number of immigrants eligible for Canada PR. Every program has different immigration number of streams which are linked to Express Entry. The extra 600 points for provincial nominee program almost guarantee Invitation to apply for Canadian PR.

Prince Edward Island

PEI or the Prince Edward Island has a stream linked to Express Entry which does not require a job offer to immigrate to the province.

This stream took part in draw on the 18th of October and issued the 270 invitations which eventually surpassed the 152 invitations in April. Candidates who were a part of non-Express Entry Labour Impact categories were also issued invitations under this stream.

Profiles are allocated points according to the details provided and are entered into the pool of candidates. The candidates are invited with or without job offer and there have been cases where this PNP program will contact Express Entry candidates who have not submitted the EOI to the province but matches the labour market needs of the province.

Saskatchewan

Saskatchewan province held the draw of its one of the most popular International Skilled Worker sub category on 10th of October. A total of 494 invitations were issued in the Occupation in-demand pool which is the most by any sub category in a single draw since Saskatchewan switched itself to Express of Interest (EOI) system.

The immigrants does not require to have a job offer in order to be eligible for the stream, which is not aligned with Express Entry. Immigrants ought to hold the experience in any one of 20 occupations listed in Saskatchewan in-demand occupation list.

A parallel draw also was held on 10th of October in which around 359 invitations were issued under the International Skilled Worker’s Express Entry sub-category, under which immigrants does not require job offer in order to be eligible.

The immigrants who fall under the express entry must possess experience in high skilled occupation that is in-demand in the province.

Ontario

The province of Ontario also held its largest draw in the year of 2018 on 19th October. It issued 439 invitations to apply for Permanent Residency of Canada.

This by far has issued most invitations in a single draw in this particular year  making it total of 1445 invitations to apply for provincial nominations from Ontario Express Entry.

Skilled Trades Stream allows the province of Ontario to search the candidates, currently living in the province, for federal Express Entry system who meet the requirements for Canadian Experience Class.

Other criteria includes atleast 1 year of full time experience or equivalent in part time work in a skilled trade listed in Minor group 633, 72, 73 or 82 of NOC list.  Skilled Trades Stream does not require

British Columbia

On 17th of October the province of British Columbia held its largest draw issuing 472 invitations to immigrants in its Skilled Immigrant and Express Entry Stream categories.

The BC PNP holds its draws for immigrants classified as Skilled Worker, International Graduates and Entry Level/ Semi Skilled categories every 2 weeks.

Most skills immigrants and Express Entry of British Columbia mostly require a valid job offer in order to be eligible.  Immigrants who are a part of International Graduate and BC Skilled Worker Express Entry streams are also invited in bi-weekly draws. Immigrants who want to be considered BC PNP through these economic immigration programs must register under the Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS).

The SIRS epitomize as Express of Interest system and issues a ranking score based on BC PNP unique points grid.
