The Prince Edward Island Province of Canada invites Express Entry candidates, Business Impact and Labour Impact immigration categories.
PEI under its PNP program, issued 147 invitations for Canadian Permanent Residency for the categories of Express Entry and Labour Impact categories. The province didn’t provide the breakdown of the candidates under each specific categories.
Under the Business Impact category work permit stream, 29 invitations were issued. In this stream a minimum of 130 points, according to points grid, are to be procured by the candidates in order to be qualified for further processing.
No minimum score was set for Express Entry and labour market categories under which 1175 invitations has been issued in this year so far.
Prince Edward Island’s PNP Program is linked to federal express entry system under which pool of candidates are managed under three economic immigration programs i.e. Federal Skilled Worker Class, Federal Skilled Trades and Canadian Experience Class.
Candidates under Express Entry pool who have received the Provincial Nominee Program are given with the 600 points for their Express Entry score which boosts them to confirm the receiving Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Canadian PR visa.
Candidates under the Express Entry can apply to province with or without job offer and there had been many cases in the past where PEI PNP has contacted candidates who have not submitted the EOI to the province but are matching to the labour market needs of the province.
Under the PNP process of Prince Edward Island, the interested candidates need to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) which details their education, work experience, language skills and other factors.
The candidates who receive the highest score are invited to apply for Provincial Nomination Program through monthly draws.
The province’s Labour Impact Category also operated on EOI basis and is divide into sub categories namely Skilled Worker, International Graduate and Critical Worker. Candidates who fall under this stream ought to be currently working for a PEI employer or must possess a job offer from the province’s employer in order to qualify under these categories.
