CRS score drops for Federal Skilled Trades Candidates

Minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of the Express Entry draw drops to 284 for the Federal Skilled Trades Candidates. Also to add on, Canadian government issues 400 invitations to candidates under the Federal Skilled Trades class under the Express Entry draw held on 24th September 2018.

18th February 2018 is considered as the tie break date and the tie break time is 12:31:16 UTC. The tie break date and time means that candidates who had scored 284 or above and submitted their profile in Express Entry before the date in picture will be issued an Invitation to Apply (ITA).

It was the 100th draw of the federal Express Entry System. This system was introduced in January 2015 to manage the system of three categories namely Federal Skilled Worker Class, Federal Skilled Trades Class and Canadian Experience Class.

Candidates who had received an ITA in draws held on 24th September 2018 have 60 days to submit a complete application for Canadian Permanent Resident.

The last program specific draw was held on 30th May 2018 which had invitations of 500 FSTC candidates with the low CRS score of 288.

This class allows the candidates with valid job offer or who are certified to work in certain occupation to obtain Canadian Permanent Residence.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates need to fulfill the following conditions in order to be eligible for the FSTC program:-

  • Ought to meet the requirements for the skilled trades mentioned in National Occupation Classification with an exception of need of certificate of qualification.
  • Ought to possess minimum 2 years of full time work experience in a skilled trade occupation within past 5 years.
  • Ought to possess a full time job offer of atleast one year or a qualification certificate in that skilled trade issued by Canadian provincial, territorial or federal authority.
