Canada’s Express Entry system trims the cut off score by 5 points in the latest draw Express Entry Program came up with the new draw on June 12 inviting a total of 3,350 candidates to apply for Canadian permanent residence. The cut-off went to 465 this time, with a decrease in 5 points from the previous score which was 470. Express Entry System is the most economical class of Canada Immigration that manages the pool of candidates under the three economic-immigration programs – the Federal Skilled Worker Class, Federal Skilled Trades Class, and Canadian Experience Class. Candidate’s eligibility depends on a score known as the Comprehensive Ranking System or CRS, which helps in evaluating the rank of the candidates in the pool of candidates. Factors like age, education, work experience, and proficiency in English/French plays an important role in the scoring of candidates. Eligible candidates for each program are issued with a score under what is known as the Comprehensive Ranking System, or CRS, which determines their rank in the pool. Candidates who score high-points are offered with an invitation to apply (ITA) for Canada permanent residence on regular draws from the pool that takes place after the span of 14 days and the application process of Canada permanent residence for Express Entry candidates takes place in the span of 6 months or less. A total of 38,450 ITAs have been issued to the Express Entry candidates by IRCC in the year 2019. This intake is 6,250 more than the previous year’s intake at the same point, a year that has 89,800. Number of Invitations to apply have seen a drastic growth. Last year was the witness to the highest number of ITA issued in a calendar year and already this year has witnessed a huge growth. As of now, the number stands at staggering 6250 more than what it was last year.
