Australia’s Global Talent Scheme is  a success  

Australia’s Global Talent Scheme which is renamed as the Global Talent-Employer Sponsored Program (GTES) is soon going to become a permanent part of the Temporary Skill Shortage Visa Subclass 482. It was introduced on July 1, 2018, and was launched as a twelve-month pilot program and is continuing to invite potential applicants for 2019. The GTES which is a pilot scheme was introduced by the government to invite skilled workers for the positions that are not filled by the locals. The GTES Scheme includes 18 businesses, out of which 5 business come under the start-up stream.

The Global Talent-Employer Sponsored Program is classified into two-streams:

a)  Established Business Stream

This stream belongs to approved business sponsors in Australia.

b)      Start-up stream

This stream is applicable to startups in the STEM fields or the Technology Industry.

a)      Industry Labour Agreements revised 2019

It is designed specifically for assured industries where each agreement consists of its own terms and conditions including salary, English requirements, etc. Industries which have special labor agreement are given below:

  1. Dairy Industry
  2.  Meat Industry
  3.  Fishing Industry
  4. On-hire
  5.   Minister of Religion
  6. Restaurant (fine dining) industry
  7.  Pork Industry
  8.  Advertising Industry

b)      Designated Area Migration Agreements (DAMA)

DAMA is used on high-scale to invite migrants in the regional areas of Australia. The regions where DAMA is applicable are:

  1. Northern Territory
  2. Great South Coast, Victoria
  3. The Goldfields, Western Australia
  4. Regional Workforce Agreement, South Australia
  5. Adelaide Technology and Innovation, South Australia
  6. Orana, New South Wales
