Australia is in need of Skilled workers to meet the Labor Gap

Australia is facing a severe shortage of skilled workers in the nation and the reason behind vacant jobs in the nation is unable to find skilled workers with specialization skills.

As per the data released by Deloitte in the report titled “ The path to prosperity: Why the future of work is human”, over 243, 200 jobs set vacant in the year 2019 and an increase of 0.3% has been observed in comparison to February 2019.

The latest list has been released by the Department of Employment, Skills, Small, and Family Business including occupations that are facing a shortage of skilled workers at the national, state and regional levels. The Department researches to find out occupations that are facing a high labor shortage.

Below-given occupations are facing skill shortage presently in the nation:

  1. Teachers
  2. Nurses
  3. Speech Therapists, optometrists, sonographers, etc.
  4. Bakers, Chefs, cooks, butchers, etc.
  5. Mechanists, aircraft maintenance engineers, metal fitters
  6. Motor Mechanics, Electricians, Vehicle painters
  7. Civil, mechanical and electrical engineers

Depending on the present scenario, the Department of Home Affairs timely updates the Australia Skilled Occupation List (SOL) to expose occupations that are facing skills shortage in the country.
