Out of 181 LAAs, a total of 124 were given to candidates under Skilled Workers in Manitoba, 39 went to Skilled Workers Overseas candidates, 18 went to International Education Stream and the remaining 11 were sent to the candidates with a valid Express Entry profile.
Canada Express Entry System provides a pathway to economic class immigrants to get permanent residence. Candidates who choose this pathway for PR are given with a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score that is being evaluated on human capital factors such as age, education, work experience, and language proficiency. And, the highest scoring candidates will get the invitation to apply for PR in regular Express Entry Draws. Having provincial nomination gives the candidate an additional 600 points to their overall score which guarantees their chances for Invitation to Apply (ITA). Express Entry Candidates who are looking for a provincial nomination from Manitoba province need to have valid work experience in one of the In-demand Occupations of Manitoba, among other requirements. In addition to it, they have to submit a separate Expression of Interest to the MPNP.
Manitoba’s Skilled Worker Overseas Category permits the MPNP to choose and nominate skilled foreign workers who are capable enough to support Manitoba’s labor market. To apply under this category, the candidate must have a connection in Manitoba such as close family, friends or education/work experience in the province, or invitation via one of the MPNP’s Strategic Recruitment Initiatives, among other requirements. On the other side, candidates applying under Skilled Worker in the Manitoba category must have a full-time employment offer from the employer and should be working in Manitoba.
