Express Entry and Occupation In-Demand categories are the fundamental parts of the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) allow the province to nominate the overseas nationals who have relevant work experience and can meet the labor needs in the province.

Candidates who want to apply for the SINP must have their occupation or closely related occupation available on the Saskatchewan’s In-Demand Occupation List.  Other than occupation, you need to have relevant work experience in your field of expertise.  The SINP allows the province to nominate eligible skilled workers for permanent residence depending on the categories that are customized on the basis of needs and requirements of the province.

To be eligible to attain an Invitation to apply for a provincial nomination for PR through any of the sub-categories, you need to first lodge an expression of Interest with SINP. Also, Saskatchewan’s application is aligned with the Federal Express Entry System, which is the fastest and prime priority of overseas nationals who want to settle in Canada permanently or looking for work opportunities. Express Entry Candidates are benefited with an additional 600 points after receiving the nomination in their overall CRS score assuring their chances of getting an invitation to apply for Canada permanent residence.

One of the requirements of eligibility criteria is having relevant work experience in one of the occupations that are In-demand in Saskatchewan if candidates want to apply in Express Entry and Occupation In-Demand sub-categories. Along with that, Express Entry candidates have to register a separate Expression of Interest (SINP) if they want to get into consideration under the SINP’s Express-Entry sub-category. Details on factors such as education, work experience, language proficiency must be mentioned in the Expression of Interest and accordingly, the score is given to the applicant out of 100 points. The high-scoring candidates get the invitation to apply for a provincial nomination through the regular draws that takes place. Till now in 2019, SINP has issued around 1,166 invitations to the candidates under Express Entry category and around 1,407 invitations are given to the candidates under Occupations In-Demand Category.
