Education Level is one of the criterions for judging the candidate in the points calculator under the Quebec Skilled Worker Program (QSWP) in the Quebec immigration selection system. This is a category under the Training factor that contains a maximum of 26 points. Level of Education helps the candidate obtain a maximum of 14 points and the other 12 points are scored based on the candidate’s Area of Training.
Under this sub-head, candidates applying through the Quebec Skilled Workers program must possess certain educational qualifications to be able to avail points. This factor has a cut off score of 2 points, which makes it mandatory for the applicant to own a secondary school general diploma at least to be able to apply for the Quebec Selected skilled worker program. In addition, the degree should have been attained at least five years before applying for the Quebec Skilled Worker program. Else the candidate should have direct work experience in a field related to their degree for 12 months or more, and the work experience should be attained five years prior to submitting their application.
