Ontario Holds New Express Entry Draw With 947 Invitations And Minimum 350 CRS Points

The latest Express Entry draw that was held on 9, August 2018 was the first draw through the Ontario’s Human Capital Priorities Stream since March. There were 947 invitations were issued with the minimum CRS score of 350. As per the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP), the CRS range for the draw was from 350 to 439. And, the candidates given Notification of Interest (NOIs) submitted their Express Entry profiles from 1, January 2018 to 9, August 2018. The candidates who were selected in the draw are required to have a job offer in Ontario.

The OINP uses the Human Capital Priorities Stream to search candidates in the Express Entry pool meeting the Stream eligibility criteria. Usually, the points requirement was that an Express Entry candidate needs to score 440 CRS points or more. This draw and the draw held on 26, March 2018 didn’t demand a CRS score of 400 or more in favour of a job offer and the French language proficiency.

Generally, a Human Capital Priorities Stream candidate doesn’t have to have a job offer. Out of the eight draws organized through the stream this year, only two ones required a job offer.

Nothing was mentioned about the offer in a specific field or occupation by the province. Ontario has issued targeted NOIs to the candidates with a work experience in Select Information Communication Technology occupations. Those who have got a provincial nomination for the Canada permanent residency from Ontario will get 600 additional points, which will increase their CRS score making them almost an ideal candidate for an Invitation to Apply (ITA) in the subsequent draw from the Express Entry pool. The candidates issued an NOI in the draw organized on 9, August 2018 have 45 calendar days. They can apply for a provincial nomination certificate within this period from Ontario.

Invitations Were Also Issued Through The French-Speaking Worker Stream

There were also 14 invitations issued through the French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream (FSSW) that is an Ontario’s Express Entry-linked Stream. French-Speaking Express Entry candidates were nominated having the required eligibility for the Canadian Experience Class or Federal Skilled Worker Class with English language proficiency (CLB 6 or above). They also have to meet the other unique provincial criteria.

The Human Capital Priorities Stream requires Minimum CRS score, but the FSSW stream doesn’t. The candidates received an invitation by means of the FSSW Stream on 9, August 2018 who submitted their Express Entry profiles between 1 January and 9, August 2018. The province has held 9 FSSW invitation rounds and issued NOIs to 277 Express Entry candidates.

Ontario has also issued 279 NOIs to Express Entry candidates through its Skilled Trades Stream in the two draws held in the summer this year. This stream is for skilled workers with a valid Express Entry profile and eligibility for the Canadian Experience Class and having work experience in an eligible skilled trade, among other criteria. The province has now issued 3,534 NOIs through the Human Capital Priorities Stream and 931 NOIs through the French-Speaking Skilled Worker stream. Besides the two mentioned, the province has given 1,006 NOIs through the Skilled Trades Stream. Those desiring for an NOI by means of the programs just mentioned here need to check whether they fulfill the eligibility criteria to enter their profile in the Federal Express Entry pool. This Express Entry system is used for the management of the profiles of candidates in the Canadian Experience Class, Federal Skilled Worker Class, and Federal Skilled Trades Class.

If you want to get an NOI through any of the programs mentioned above, you first need to know whether you have the required eligibility to put your profile in the Federal Express Entry pool. The Express Entry system deals with the candidates’ profiles in the Federal Skilled Trades Class, Canadian Experience Class, and Federal Skilled Worker Class.
