Northern Territory has opened its door to Skilled Migrants in 117 occupations for PR
The low skilled migrants with limited English gets an opportunity of settling in Australia as a permanent residency after residing and working in the Northern Territory for the span of at least three years for the next five years.
The low skilled migrants who are cooks, family day workers, and motor mechanics are eligible to apply for Australia’s permanent residency. Northern Territory, one of the states of Australia has opened its gateway to migrants in 117 occupations by offering an avenue to permanent residency to the applicants who want to live and work in the state for the period of at least three years. In an attempt to deviate the migration population outside major cities like Sydney and Melbourne, the Australian Government has come up with this policy to invite the skilled migrants in the regional parts of the country.
Designation Area Migration Agreements (DAMA) scheme is announced by the Government for two regions in Australia: Warnambool region in Victoria and the Northern Territory which are currently facing a shortage of skilled workers and looking for growth in population. The other scheme agreement of Northern Territory providing a pathway to gain permanent residency, DAMA II has come into effect from 1st January 2019. He also mentioned that the Government is planning out immigration program to meet the needs of states, territories, and regional areas. Ranging from accountants to child care worker and web designer, the Australian Government along with the Northern Territory Government has picked out 117 occupations, where employers can hire overseas skilled migrants when a position is unfilled by the locals.
