a) Skilled Migration Visa Options

Australia’s Skilled Independent visa Subclass 189 and Canada’s Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) program are the two popular programs to attract International applicants with skills and qualification. Both the programs don’t require any sponsorship from closed family members living in there or nomination from the state government. Both these visas are point-based system and nominate the candidate on factors like age, qualification, work experience, language proficiency, etc. Both the visa programs offer permanent residency status in the respective countries and allow users to enter and leave the country multiple times until the visa is valid.

b)  Requirements

To be eligible to apply for Canada Federal Skilled Worker Program, candidates must have at least one year of full-time work experience in any job that is available in National Occupational Classification (NOC) Skill Level O, A or, B. Talking about Australia Skilled Independent program, your occupation should be mentioned in the Australia Skilled Occupation List.

c) Points Based System

Both Australia’s Skilled Independent Visa and Canada’s Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) Program are the point-based system that determines the eligibility of a candidate based on factors like age, language proficiency, work experience, education, and other factors. In Canada Immigration process, you have to score at least 67 points out of 100 on the point-based system where as in Australia Immigration; you have to score at least 65 points on Australian point-based system. Candidates who meet minimum points requirements have to submit an expression of interest (EOI).

d) Application process

Canada’s Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) program is a part of the Express Entry system that manages applications online. Interesting candidates have to submit Express Entry profile if they meet the minimum requirements. The Express Entry profile is an Expression of Interest (EOI) indicates the interest of a candidate in Canada Immigration. Once the Express Entry profile is created, a CRS score given to the candidate out of 1200 points. Every fortnight, the Canadian government carries out Express Entry Draw invites the candidates with high CRS score to apply for permanent residence.

On the other hand, Australia Skilled Independent Program subclass 189 accepts the applications with minimum score 0f 65 and above on the points system. The Australian Government issues invitations twice a month. And, Skill Select EOIs are valid for at least two years. Candidates are given with a minimum of 60 days period to apply for Australia permanent residence.
