Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP)

Alberta is stated as Canada’s most dynamic region in terms of society and economy.

It is situated in western region of Canada and has the fastest expanding economy which is entirely based upon its natural resources. Alberta not only consist Canada’s two huge cities, named as Calgary and Edmonton but also is the most populated province within the nation’s three famous ‘Prairie provinces’.

Alberta is also famously known as North America’s most amazingly beautiful region with renowned national parks in its nature’s lap like Banff and Jasper.

Alberta’s Provincial Program is known by the name of Alberta Provincial Nominee Program (AINP). It is constructed for candidates who have the skills and experience required by the Province, and for which, an applicant, on selection by the provincial government, will be given a Alberta Provincial Nomination Certificate, in order to make the remaining immigration process faster.

Following are the streams under Alberta Provincial Nominee Program (AINP):

  • Strategic Recruitment Stream
  • Employer-Driven Stream
  • Self-Employed Farmer Stream

Strategic Recruitment Stream
Strategic Recruitment Stream permits candidates who don’t have any employer support with them to apply under AINP. It further contains three categories:

Compulsory and Optional Trades Category – Tradesmen, who are having a Qualification Certificate of Alberta or hold a Recognized Trade Certificate, are eligible to apply under the category of Compulsory and Optional Trades. During the time of application and working tenure in any compulsory or optional trade, candidates must be a resident of Alberta with an authorized work permit.

Engineering Occupations Category – This particular category is constructed for engineers, designers and drafters having work experience in Alberta. The candidates must be working in any occupation which is being designated for this category.

Employer-Driven Stream is constructed for employers who wish to select and nominate skilled workers under AINP for Immigration to Canada. By using this method, visa applicants can have the satisfaction of acquiring a desired job profile after they achieve Canadian permanent residency and for employers, it would be easier to maintain the skill gaps they are facing. It further contains three categories:

Skilled Worker Category – This category is designed for applicants having a permanent, full-time employment offer under an eligible skilled occupation. It is not mandatory for applicants to have a prior working experience in Alberta.

International Graduate Category – This category is designed for applicants who hold a graduation degree from a renowned post-secondary academic institution in Canada with an authorized Post-Graduation Work Permit, and have acquired a permanent, full-time employment offer from an employer of Alberta.

Semi-Skilled Worker Category – This category is designed for temporary international workers who have acquired a permanent, full-time employment offer from an employer of Alberta in a semi-skilled occupation.
